Pros – -Free Ice Cream
-Time Off When Requested
-Tips accounted for in pay
-Consistent tasks from day to day
-Typically friendly coworkers
-Predictable customer activity so plans can be made accordingly
-Many friendly and frequent customers
Cons – -Too much expected of minimum-wage crew members
-Little to no formal training (later punished for not knowing every little detail)
-Late close (10pm every night)
-Very few Holidays off
-No room for advancement
-Poor management
-Too few people working closing shifts (1 or 2 at most)
-Often ran out of certain stock due to general incompetence of employers and employees
-Many loud children to bear and clean up after
-Very dirty and disorganized workplace
-Incredible amounts of favoritism by management
-Tips included in check and taxed
Advice to Senior Management – TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES, and provide some positive feedback every now and again. Stop expecting minimum-wage employees to perform with 120% efficiency when all the feedback we receive is negative. Make your expectations clear, and keep every employee on the same page. Monitor every employee equally, and realize there are problems where they are least expected.
