Baxter – “Don't work in Medication Delivery”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
Fair pay, excellent benefits. Oh, and my boss is a good guy...I've told the VP of HR for our division that my boss is the only reason I'm still there.
Cons
Round Lake is in the middle of freakin' nowhere. Parts of the Medication Delivery division are hopelessly sunk. Management continually wonders what the cause of the moral and productivity issues is, but as they don't own a mirror they can't seem to figure it out. Very old-guard company with regards to work atmosphere.
Advice to Senior Management
If you are in fact trying to compete with smaller, more agile companies, start hiring people from said companies. You cannot hire ex-GE employees and expect that will solve the issues we are having, which, ironically, are the same issues GE experienced. Outsourcing is *NOT* a silver bullet.

When I turned down the job I was offered, I was called in for another assignment in the Polymer Engineering Division. And I enjoyed working there because people were nice and my boss appreciated my work. It was not just lip-service. I was given a 15% raise on the 2nd day of my assignment! So I think each department is different and if you are fortunate enough to get a good boss, you will be very happy and satisfied. One thing i am very convinced about it working in manufacturing at Baxter is not a going to be a good experience. Generally speaking, something I have seen is a lot of managers just do not know or want to treat their employees with any consideration or understanding. It is a huge training issue.
