Pros

12b company with products that do make a difference in people's lives Some strong, competent people ther who are not being leveraged

Cons

Incompetence of sr management team Too much compounding change No development of people Promotions bad on subjectivity Redundancies everywhere and no 2 hands talking to eachother

Advice to Management

Set benchmarks and be held accountable Avoid constant change Thank employees on jobs well done Act like leaders and if you can't, step aside Remove incompetent leaders from their roles

    Pros

Global Pharma/Medical Device Company with a very big presence in key therapy and drug areas. Nice campus (Deerfield, IL), Cafeteria.

    Cons

The corporate HQ is known to be very dry, old, and grey...you can say this about the people there also. Moving up the ladder is tough, unless you fall in a certain category and also inner circle. There is lack of leadership that actually cares about people development and movement. Lot of the departments are working in their own little areas and do not talk to the other counterparts from differente divisions. Corporate has no control over its other sites as much, especially with IT.

    Advice to Management

Baxter really needs to step up its game when it comes to people development, marketing their drugs in key countries, and of course learning from their mistakes.

    Pros

Work-life balance was the highest priority. Their benefits packages were great. They are very highly respected in the industry and the region.

    Cons

The workplace was highly political. The company has had ongoing trouble with the FDA for over a decade. They are constantly trying to reorganize in order to address their issues. The management's intelligence and leadership ability is terrible. You will receive recognition for your successes, but that will not be translated into raises or tangible rewards. After your initial offer, do not expect to get many raises.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Your employees need to be paid competitively, or they will go to other companies in the area that do the same type of work and will pay them. You have been trying to fix your FDA issues for decades, and clearly, you do not know how to do it.
