I worked at Baxter as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Very interesting pharmaceutical R&D/QAQC facility with people who cared about the work they were doing.

    Cons

Unfortunately, we were in closure mode when I was hired to manage the EHS end of the closure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop closing R&D & manufacturing facilities in the US. Keep our US personnel working before moving the development & manufacturing of pharmaceuticals out of this country.

I worked at Baxter full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Fairly good reputation. Some very good products and mediocre pipeline. Pays above average.

    Cons

HR (Bioscience) is lacking professionalism and respect. Poorly functioning teams throughout organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to resist promoting people who are unable to lead. Unfortunately I witnessed may promotions based on ability to "kiss up" versus real talent.
