I have been working at Baxter

Pros

This company truly does invest in their employees and tries to provide opportunities for development, advancement, and workplace flexibility. The culture is the biggest draw for this company - the people overall are genuine, caring, and try to make Baxter a great place to work.

Cons

As others have mentioned, the systems are a little antiquated in places, which is surprising for a company of this size.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better, more timely communication around key hiring and compensation changes.

Baxter - Credit and Leasing Services: A Sinking Ship

I have been working at Baxter

    Pros

The only Pros of working in Baxter's Credit and Leasing Services department are the basics; it's a job, they give you a paycheck (albeit a small one), and the benefits are ok.

    Cons

The Credit and Leasing Services department is a sinking ship. Close to 10 people have left in the past year, and no one has been replaced. Their work has been distributed to those who are left, and everyone is over capacity. Compensation is minimal, and yearly merit increases are comically small. Politics has infected the department, and management has been extremely unfriendly and overbearing. Was your lunch one hour and 5 minutes? You'll be reprimanded for the extra 5 minutes. You took 7 minutes to go get coffee down the hall? Your lunch break can only be 53 minutes now. It's a middle school, really.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management isn't talented enough to properly create metrics which measures employees' performances, so they use the only one they can think of - minutes you spend at your computer. Please, please drop this prescriptive, overbearing time policy and learn how to properly value your employees.
