I have been working at Baylor College of Medicine full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Large client population and entry level positions provide ability to gain necessary experience for future career growth.

Opportunity to complete supervision to transition from LMSW to LCSW.

Great medical and other fringe benefits.

Cons

Salary not competitive with educational and experience level for the Houston area. Leads to frequent turnover of workforce.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase salary to Houston market rate to increase employee stability.

    Some labs well funded. Good core labs.

    Cons

    -Core labs expensive
    -Benefits are poor and cost too much.
    -Scientific staff pay is low.

    -improve benefits.

    Working in the world's largest medical center.
    Collaboration with world's leading experts in their fields.

    Cons

    Work life balance is skewed towards work.
    If you have undergraduate student loans, the pay of a grad student is hard to make things financially viable.

    Create more faculty positions.
    There needs to be national focus to reduce time to phd.
