Pros

Good benefits, long vacation (4 weeks for everyone evey freshmen out of college), matching 401K, free coffee, several hundred dollars allowance on alcohol purchase every year

Cons

Culture is very bad - became worse and worse since there is a re-org every year. All the "Old school" guys are knocked out. If you are 40+, with the company for 5+ yrs, and still not a director or just a junior director, you will be out eventually, unless you are backed by a senior executive who is normally much younger and meaner than you. The senior management have been all new faces since 2008-2009 re-org and they keep hiring new bloods to replace the old. It's not about how good you are. It's just about whose ass you are kissing. And if you are too old, even though you want to kiss their ass they would rathe hire some analysts right out of college and promote them into managers in a year or two.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice - The senior management know what they are doing. They want to do it because it's in their best interest.

    Pros

Compensation benefits are good relative to the industry standard. Secondary benefits of food & beverage compensation is a plus. The industry is fun as it revolves around a good product.

    Cons

The product that you surround yourself with isn't good for long-term health as you will find yourself in bars and night clubs quite often. Although fun, it isn't good for a family life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more mindful of who you promote and look at external promotions. Also, in layoffs don't be afraid to cut poor people in key positions and promote others into their position.

    Pros

Great place to work in a truly global environment
    Terrific Products / Brands
Solid, smart and capabile Sr. Leadership team
    Good location in Chicago Suburbs
Growing company, solid earnings and real vision for its future

    Cons

    A bit chaotic at times
Sometimes priorities seem to be in competition with each other
Corporate Headquarters building is outdated if you are not on a renovated floor
If you are not agressive, you will go unnoticed which is developing into a culture of highly agressive individuals at all levels.
Not a lot of women in Sr. levels of the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the priorities focused and think about how the operations and commercial priorities impact the corporate headquaters support teams who need to manage multiple #1 priorities. Look for ways to promote / hire more senior visible women.
