    Pros

    Free fruit once a week

    Cons

There are a few talented and genuinely nice people here, but considering the small size of the agency, you would hope there would be more. Potential employees are lured in by the high-profile clients and the promise that if you're passionate about advertising and your given discipline, you'll thrive at Beam. And you may, providing your passionate about the same things that everyone else is, in the same ways that they're passionate and your passion doesn't affect or impact anyone in a way that might rock the ship. Generally-speaking, it's an environment that imparts a sense of fear in it's employees that, if you don't fall in-line and follow the status-quo, you're head will be on the chopping block. It pits colleagues against colleagues, draws out the sneaky in people and it's a 'ME' rather than a 'WE' culture. My experience here has been that people are downright lousy and mean to each other. Like I said, a few nice folks does not a happy workplace make when you're afraid to make any decisions independently, make a recommendation as to how to improve something or have *gasp* an original thought.

    Pros

The space itself is eerily quiet and sometimes cold, but the people are really good people, they all are very nice and do good work, and the atmosphere is really laid back and casual. Projects that come in are fun and quirky.

    Cons

One or two of the people who have gotten promotions there are people that don't seem very personable or friendly.
