I worked at Beauty Brands

Pros

get to deal with hair products all the time and often get free full size products as a reward! very girly place to work

Cons

the pay, for sure (which is minimum wage). they expect CSS's to do a lot of work for practically nothing.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

pay more, especially if the person is obviously a good employee

    Pros

Great discount. Free product. Enjoyable coworkers for the most part. Flexibility in schedule for managers. Opportunity to grow with company if you were willing to do it their way.

    Cons

Did not allow life/work balance. Horrible communication between upper and lower management. Not a good sense of job security. Hard to tell if you were doing a good job or not. Made to feel as if you are a pawn to do others bidding. Alot of unethical behavior between other store manager and immediate supervisor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to learn to adapt to today's ethical ways of doing business and fostering good team work among other members of management. Treat others in a consistent and fair manner while following company's policies and procedures.

Majorly disappointing experience, especially since I was told one thing in the interview, but the truth was another.

    Pros

Fairly laid back atmosphere, allowed to work independently

    Cons

Massage services are underpriced so Massage Therapists are underpaid and Beauty Brands takes too big of a cut, not to mention- isn't capable of providing enough repeat business due to their first time client special which only brings in the penny pinchers (who rarely tip if they tip at all), not potential long-term clients, so it's impossible to make a living there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to know the pay for positions they're hiring before making offers and promises they can't keep to new employees.
