Pros

Company very good at identifying deficiencies and driving results. As part of DBS, everyone knows that goals are stretch goals and work very hard to meet a bar that is set high.

Cons

Exhausting pace, extremely lean, and never have a sense of accomplishment. Even when one sector out performs, you still feel failure if company metrics come up short. Since metrics are stretch, they are rarely met.

    Pros

You do get a paycheck every two weeks.

    Cons

They company is now owned by Danaher. The focus has changed from being all about patient care and customer service to one of save-a-penny-at-any-cost. The result being that no time is allowed for required tasks (such as expense reports, on-line training, checking Pro-service to see the status of instruments you have worked on or are scheduled to perform a PM on, take care of the company car...the list goes on and on). Yet, those tasks count toward your evaluation.

    Advice to Management

Field service engineers as a rule like to leave a job well done and are good at managing their time to work effectively and have work-life balance. Since Danaher bought this company, too many good engineers have left. It takes years to attain a good level of competency on these instruments. Loosing an engineer you've spent one year training is no big deal compared to those with years of experience that are now going. It is not only is telling in the percent effectivity but also customer feedbacks. My customers always told me it is the service that sells these instruments...as they get slower turn-arounds and newer engineers in training, they will be looking elsewhere as their contracts expire.

    Pros

They are so arrogant and aloof that never notice how many employees are selling data to other competitiors

    Cons

They have many inside enemies and they don't even notice. Some are even plotting against the company to sabotage their efforts.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing it your way so that others can get away with it.You will not know what hit you.
