Pros

Great benefits and steady hours

Cons

With the purchase of the company to Danaher, the company has lost its caring for the employees. They are all about the numbers. Do more with less people. The people suffer for it..

    Pros

BCI is a leader in their industry. They make the latest state of the art Centrifugation equipment as well as analysis equipment.

    Cons

They need to consider their greatest asset, their employees, with more respect. Without them, they wouldn't have a company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are often conflicts in what is expected from field employees

I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good products. Company looks to innovate and customer needs are a primary focus. Company making changes to solidify future. Very competitive within its industry

    Cons

Company implementing some lean changes which itself isn't a bad thing....especially in a changing global economy. However many new metrics and KPIs field employees are expected to meet conflict with each other. By working to achieve one goal it inhibits you from achieving another goal. . Many engineers have left increasing the workload making it more difficult to achieve these goals. Admin work is expected to be done between calls on the road in your car which doubles the amount of time it takes to do them. I am all for lean and eliminating waste. Its necessary but nothing is cut and dry when you work in the field. Its a variable career in which every day is different. Distance to site, amount of work involved in repair, number of calls on a given day, parts available, cause of failure are all uncontrolled variables that have major impacts on your performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compile some direct feedback from a wide demographic of field employees. Listen to what they have to say. Use it to better tailor metrics and KPIs
