Pros

You always have something to do, you're constantly meeting new people, at your yearly or bi-annual employee review they ask you what your goals are: if you relate them to improving yourself as a professional in the store or advancing your career with the company they attempt to give you the experiences needed to achieve it.

Cons

You always have something to do, you're constantly meeting new people.

Advice to Management

Give better pay raises. Most hourly employees don't know how to negotiate effectively. If you take better care of them, they'll continue to take better care of you.

  1. Would be an ideal job if they'd let me do my job, not everyone else's.

    Pros

You have empowerment to actually help the customer.

    Cons

Bed Bath & Beyond is slow to promote employees. They do not listen to employees preferences.

    Advice to Management

Find the strengths and talents and then use those to the best of your ability. Listen to employees who find they are in the wrong position.

Great starting pay, but little hope for pay raises

I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great starting pay Great company to work for (debt free, great reputation) The people are so nice! (customers and employees alike...with a few exceptions) Employee discount is okay at 20% but could be better Nice training/orientation program, very thorough Free food/lunch at department meetings :) Open door policy

    Cons

With so many employees, there's a fear that your good work won't be noticed Some people in upper management have bad attitudes :/ Not much more it's a pretty great company overall.

    Advice to Management

You should have quarterly or bi-yearly pay raise opportunities based on job performance Stop with all the attitude (the few of you who have it) and jump off of your high horse. You know what it's like to be entry level so empathize with us instead of turning your nose up at us.
