I worked at Bell Mobility part-time for less than a year

Pros

Its a great place to work if you are a student or fresh grad, or if your career is in transition. Its a good job to have while your studying, to upgrade any qualifications, as well.

Cons

Its an unpaid internship. Work hours are long, but you need to find your balance.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

A balanced lifestyle should be encouraged, where work is balanced off with other activities. Working long work hours doesn't always indicate that an employee is dedicated to their job. They could just be trying to extend their hours( to complete requirements) without actually being productive.

I have been working at Bell Mobility full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company offers stock options, by matching your investment dollar for dollar.
Good commission structure as well as bonuses for hitting targets.
    Great customer service experience

    Cons

the base pay for sales consultants in Alberta is quite insufficient.
compared to Telus mobility commission structure is not as attractive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the base pay of sales consultants in Alberta.
Although the commission structure is pretty good, it could be better with regards to things like Hardware upgrades as this is one area that is not that attractive.

I worked at Bell Mobility full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

New technology, some talented people to work and learn from, corporate structure, some chances to move to different departments.

    Cons

Unethical sales people who become store managers and the people above them who condone this behaviour. If it helps someone above you make their bonus, I guess it's excusable to lie/cheat/steal from the Bell shareholders. The people who play it straight but get the crap locations to work/manage in are the scapegoats and performanced out.
There are a lot of incompetent people in positions (in every department of Bell) of authority/power/overpaid salaries that have no business "managing" people. It's sad how the selection process neglects the people relationship skills that should be required for these "managers" who get promoted/appointed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

By upper management, I mean the people above the Director of BC etc. Apparently corruption has spread to even the Regional Managers and the Director where outright cheating (where evidence has been supplied) is condoned/overlooked because it has helped line their pockets with bonuses.
Distribution channel, time to stop promoting based on just sales results (and you should be scrutinizing the sales results). Even the new sales consultants hired can spot the obvious cheats on the reports means that this is being ignored. Have an independent department of the company who has the power to discipline these individuals or review the "discipline" by their managers.
Spend some time working on the phones with the call centre people, work with the sales people on the floor, talk to the store managers and front line people of (regardless if they are in A or D location).
