Benfield Group – “I would accept their offer all over again.”

Great opportunities to prove yourself and grow within the company. Supportive network of people and all the skills you need to get the job done are in the company around you. The company is also very good at recognizing the balance between work and the real world. They sponsor activities such as softball teams, birthday lunches, and random happy hours to keep the morale up and help the office to bond in a positive way. They also are usually pretty flexibile if activities come up that need to take you away from work, as long as you're going to get your job done.
Cons
There are no downsides to working at Benfield that immediately come to mind. If you accept a job on the broker side, you likely understand that you will need to travel occassionally. Additionally, it is not a 9 to 5 kind of job, and you are usually expected to work until the job is completed. Sometimes you end up staying very late into the night, but on other days everyone goes home early to make up for it. With a relatively small company, when you do domething, you are generally seen for it, either positively or negatively. The only other thing to be aware of is that there can be a degree of nepotism, though that seems to be pervasive throughout the insurance industry.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep the information flowing and keep providing opportunities for rotational programs for development.
