Pros

Jeans every day, smart coworkers, laid back enviroinment, great benefits

Cons

As with anywhere, cost is a huge factor in decisions. More so than the actual needs or functionality of a solution.

Typical mix of some good aspects and some "Dilbert" aspects

    Pros

Nice people, positive work, good benefits.

    Cons

Jobs are being moved overseas. Leaders from acquired companies come into senior management positions which downplays some existing product lines

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Incentive program is still not clear, and product management in some areas is not doing what it needs to do to steer the product development

    Pros

Bentley is a family run company and does have a good work/life balance. While we only have 3,000 colleagues, the company is spread over 40+ countries, which means that it has all the challenges of a large global corporation. This makes the work interesting and provides a lot of opportunities to work with colleagues from all over the world.

    Cons

Bentley colleagues tend to be very loyal and stay with the company. While can be good, it also means that there is very little movement in management positions. For those looking to move up, there are few options. They are trying to address this issue with retirement plans recently but it is too soon to say whether they will be effective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While there are some very smart people at the company, there are also several who are in their role primarily because they got in early when the company was very small. Their role has expanded but they have not. Keeping people in roles that are above their ability hinders the effectiveness of the organization and doesn't do them any favors either.

Overall it is a very well run company and I do trust senior management on most issues.
