Ok place to work but no room for growth or advancement

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Burnaby, BC (Canada)

ProsFlex-hours, company gym and co-workers generally make an OK working environment. Company shuttle is convenient for those who don't drive and faster than transit.

ConsAdvancement opportunities are rare. Employees are treated as disposable, creating an uncertain working environment. Various departments very often have communication difficulties resulting in confusion, missed deadlines and finger pointing. Compensation is often not competitive when compared to other equivalent positions at other companies. No consideration is given for prior experience when salary is being determined for non-manager roles.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your employees more and offer programs to aid in advancing their career within the company. Best Buy needs to investigate further on remaining competitive on salary and benefits with the realization that the company is based in one of the most expensive places to live and should adjust accordingly.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
