I worked at Best Buy

Pros

Learned new technology, products and services offered. Fast growth opportunity, I was promoted and given a raise within the first 3 months of being employed.

Cons

Co-workers aren't micromanged enough, therefore their work ethic isn't up to standard most of the time. For some reason, alot of inside theft went on in the store.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train co-workers how to be motivated and inspired to work for Best Buy and maybe they won't steal as much or at all.

    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

    - the pay is higher than average
    - a strong sense of team involvement is (almost) mandatory
    - there is plenty to be gained in terms of knowledge and experience at Best Buy

    Cons

    - very little down time for most of the entry level jobs (constant work)
    - the "culture" at Best Buy can almost make you feel as if you were part of a cult
    - there are numerous online tests you are required to take fairly often
    - you can't earn commissions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall, the company is still in business for a reason so I suppose you guys are doing something right. The only thing that I would suggest is to lower the prices on certain GSBTP plans as they often insult the customers by clearly being too high.

    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

One of the best electronic retail stores out there to work for. You also get great store discounts on products such as DSLR's TV's and video games.

    Cons

If you love having weekends or holidays off then Best Buy is not for you. Standing up all day everyday can be annoying after a while also.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think they should listen to the employees a little more. It
s been several times where we were ignored.
