Great Values, that don't trickle down into the stores

I have been working at Best Buy

Pros

The company core values are awesome and everything Best Buy stands for is great. I've been in a thriving store where managers were on the same hype as corporate. But once that management team was split up, the chemistry changed in the store.

Cons

Sometimes promotions are based on who you a friends with as opposed to the talent you bring to the table.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Practice what you preach. Don't forget that without every single employee in the store you cannot do your job as well. Appreciate every employee and what they have to offer. Managers get great bonuses, while the line level employees get your hollering when you don't.

    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

The only reason was the discount, but now that is changed. The discount is no longer worth anything on items that used to be cheap for employees.

    Cons

Having a supervisor that can't look any of his employees or customers in the eye. All of the drama between co-workers. Made up excuses on why others get transferred over certain employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourselves. Fire your supervisors. Replace the store with people that know how to lead and act like they have some sort of knowledge in management. Don't force your employees to have to sell a certain amount of Black Tie in a day. Don't bs around with hours giving part time 5-10 hours a week and then when they work a second job, change your structuring to give them more hours or make them quit if they can't be available.
