I have been working at Best Buy part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Discount on certain items is nice.

    Cons

Management is awful. Pay is awful. No opportunity for advancement no matter how hard you work. Management uses threats to keep employees in line. Basically Slavery for 10 dollars an hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should explain to employees that full time is not available for anyone no matter how hard they work. You should also tell employees up front bonuses are impossible to get. Maybe management should give some money to employees to pay bills. Our GM makes 100k while I make 10k and I work 2X harder then him and I have a higher education.

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

It was nice to have the occasional weekday off. They work around school, FT employees get tuition reimbursement

    Cons

Horrible Pay, shady crooked managers, promotions based on blackmail and friendships rather than on performance and potential. I sat in on a meeting once where a district HR manager went over the ways to convince employees they are well paid as justification for not giving out raises. If you're looking for a job to get you through college it's not bad. If you're looking for a career look elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more managers with college degrees that know how to run a business,
