I worked at Best Buy full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Pay was so-so, had ok co-workers. The employee discount was great until they took that away.

Cons

Forced to regularly work past your scheduled shifts. They sell hard meaning they will sell customers things they do not need and you better keep your mouth shut about it. Being in installations I was setup up on a frequent basis to fail and be put in harms way.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to what worked. Empower the people again and have them sell like they are paid hourly and not sell like they are 100% commission

    Great pay and amazing discount

    Cons

    some of the customers can get very cranky when it comes to there computers and give alot of attitude, and there is little to no training (hands on)

    give hands on training for geek squad agents

    Pros

    Discount on certain items is nice.

    Cons

    Management is awful. Pay is awful. No opportunity for advancement no matter how hard you work. Management uses threats to keep employees in line. Basically Slavery for 10 dollars an hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You should explain to employees that full time is not available for anyone no matter how hard they work. You should also tell employees up front bonuses are impossible to get. Maybe management should give some money to employees to pay bills. Our GM makes 100k while I make 10k and I work 2X harder then him and I have a higher education.
