I have been working at Best Buy full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits, and definitely an ability to learn and grow.

    Cons

Upper management is not aligned on what to prioritize so mid-management directs corporate employees to chase hard after one thing, then shift gears and chase hard after another thing, then shift gears...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get aligned at corporate so you are working smarter, not harder. Hold retail field leadership accountable for execution of plans in stores so vendors and corporate can count on at least a 90% successful execution rate.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The discounts are great and your coworkers will be friendly. I enjoy how best buy makes it easy for employees to work together to be the best.

    Cons

Here's where I am mad. They say we are not paid on commission. However, our sales numbers are tracked as if we are on commission. We are told to sell extended warranties as if we are on commission. We are made to feel bad when we are forced to sell an item marked down at a loss as if we are on commission. Since they treat us like we are on commission, the company might as well pay us some commission. However, they are too cheap to do that
