I worked at Best Buy part-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

The employee discount was the only reason I worked there for so long, as well as great co-workers.

Cons

Horrible management at every level. They care too much about "numbers" and not about their own employees. Scheduling is a nightmare if you're part time. One week you will work 30 hours, the next week it might be 8. Very frustrating. Lots of drama and BS.

    managers were rude, not flexible with hours or work schedule, no leadership, hostile workers, everything kept breaking down

    flexible scheduling, co-workers, discount, cool store atmosphere, Geek Squad Culture!

    long hours, understaffed, poor computer systems, compensation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Find a strategy and stick with it and fully invest in it. Geek Squad precincts across the country are in dire need of remodels and tools to correctly do their jobs (systems). Good Agent's don't get paid enough to stick around and we are constantly getting additional fulfillment services added to us. You're taking a premium brand and turning it into a problem center.
