Pros

People you work with care.

Cons

a lot of corporate red tape. Meaning, decisions take forever to get final approval. some areas do not promote well within. always waiting for next round of layoffs.

Advice to Management

too many meetings, never start or end on time, lack of focus on what matters to run the business because everyone wants to be the one putting their 'fingerprint' on a project

    Pros

An okay wage for a part-time position.

    Cons

NOT a position for someone in college -- they will schedule you when they want, regardless of your availability. You will be forced to work in the departments they did not hire you for, and you will not be comprehensively trained in these extra departments. They will force you to be pushy and downright rude to customers and then punish you when it drives them away. Loss Prevention is utterly useless; you take the blame for that too.

    Advice to Management

Leave people where you hire them on to put them. Understand that good customer service doesn't involve a clipboard, it involves being personable, reading the customer for their needs and whether they want a lot of attention (or not), and giving them the attention they WANT, not the attention you think they need.

    Pros

Great pay for retail managers. Good associates. Great experience to get to the next level at other Big Box retail.

    Cons

Everything else. Hours, salaried expectations, you name it, miserable work life balance. Terrible upper management, district staff was a joke.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees.
