I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Got to work on my sales techniques Lots of training modules to build your skills Attempting to reinvent the way they look at customers

    Cons

Complete lack of interest in employees, failed to recognize key signs that employees were unhappy Forced to do remedial task that don't make any sense Management was very immature, often having open meltdowns on the floor Would randomly let people go without communication to others Scheduling was a mess, often scheduled me even when I was on time off Created rigid experience for customers that drove away buyers Prices are so high that it was impossible to motivate myself to get people to buy Failed to recognize the key signs that employee were unhappy Staff was very knowledgeable, but were not allowed to work outside of one department creating a vast silo effect

    Advice to Management

Need to pay more attention to your employees needs, wants, and desires instead of your revenues.

    Pros

Good co-workers, good full time benefits, good discount, great entry level job.

    Cons

Management doesn't care about people...just cares about the numbers. Salary not based on experience. Whether you have 10 minutes of experience or 10 years, you'll get paid the same. Management is always trying to add more responsibility without increasing pay.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about your own agenda and care about the people you're supposed to be leading.
