I worked at Best Buy part-time (less than a year)

Pros

Fast paced culture with enthusiastic people. They encouraged bold activity, plus everyone likes to get discounts on the latest electronics.

Cons

Focused on the numbers instead of the people, which is why they are falling by the wayside as Internet based companies like Amazon are continuing in their success.

Negative Outlook

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    great coworkers
    cool technology
    every day is different
benefits are great...but they're changing and not in the employees' interest

    Cons

    poor work/life balance
    extremely scorecard-driven
poor technical training for agents/not enough allotted - puts them in a bad position with clients
hybrid model/floating helper for field services - while efficient, it puts agents at high-risk for injury & they will be sorry for doing their jobs later in life with back problems

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop trying to make agents be a "jack of all trades" and have them focus on their specialty to provide a great client and employee experience, while remaining efficient at their task on hand

the pdg process needs to be revamped as people do not enjoy it and only do out of compliance.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed working here, I absolutely loved the discount and liked talking to customers and the like. The employees working there were fun to hang out with and talk to.

    Cons

Needs more hours for employees. Often didn't have the help we needed to help every customer. Got fired because I didn't sell enough Best Buy credit cards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Up the hours for employees.
