Pros

Employees that work here are great
Pay is decent
Competitive environment

Cons

Terrible work/life balance. No time to spend with your family. Extra responsibilities added on a daily basis. You get paid to do a job that you can't actually manage because you are too busy focusing on other tasks passed down from district management to general management.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on top 3 most important areas and stick to them. Stop adding extra pointless work and stay consistent, focusing on what is most important.

    I worked at Best Buy full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great discounts, flexible scheduling, diverse and friendly employee environment; having worked for three stores each one had its own distinct feel. Adequate training if employee takes advantage of opportunities. Great way to learn and explore the different avenues of working retail.

    Cons

    Favoritism runs rampant (worked for 3 different stores), Company management structure changes seemingly every year at this point with less leadership positions, carrying over hefty job responsibilities to remaining leadership without giving increased compensation for additional responsibility. High pressure sales and unrealistic sales expectations that does not match well with starting pay. The amount of pressure put on employees to perform well with no commission is laughable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Actually listen to line level employee advice/feedback that is given to leadership. Implement a fair bonus structure for line level employees to compensate for the high pressure sales environment.
