I have been working at Best Buy

Pros

The opportunity to learn about all the new phones when they are released. There is also a discount after working for the company for 30 days.

Cons

its a seasonal position and you get evaluated at the end of the season. The uniform is not very fun to wear because of the bright blue.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Best buy should pay more attention to the well being of the employees so that customer satisfaction goes up. If the employees are happy, then they will provide a better service.

    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

The employee discount was great and most of the time the store environment was pleasant to work in. Meetings were usually engineered to be more fun than at most companies. Fairly flexible with my schedule.

    Cons

There is a constant problem with most associates congregating into cliques and talking amongst each other while a small handful of more industrious associates do all the work. Management wasn't ever very good about getting after or rid of those unproductive employees and equally poor at giving recognition (or compensation) to those few employees who all-stars.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be more accountability for productivity. Management was often either buddy-buddy with the under-performers or just too spineless to rip into them. This very negatively impacted the experience and morale of the hard workers.
