I have been working at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

Pros

2 for $5 dollars for unsold red sox tickets. (then again, who's ever heard of unsold red sox tickets?) If you have a good PI (like I do), then you're pretty much set.

Cons

The 401k contribution is pretty weak (~4%)

I have been working at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

    Pros

Harvard teaching facility, in Longwood Medical Area. Interesting patients.

    Cons

Not unionized, staff nurses with over 25+ years are laid off without a second thought.
Due to the lay-offs, most units are left short staffed, and conditions are stressful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many Directors, and too little support staff. It is a crime how the lay-offs were handled, staff did not receive any respect or dignity for their years of service. Plus other options should have been explored before a major lay-off.

I worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

    Pros

You can have good wages if you manage to have funding as researcher. But that's it

    Cons

If you are a young investigator do not start your career there. No mentoring. Worst place I've ever worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

NO leadership. They smile, poly but NO support. You are totally on your own.
