I have been working at Better Business Bureaus

Pros

Very good for public interest work, a lot of client contact, contact witht eh public as well as business owners or their reps

Cons

Not very good or beneficial for career advancement. Strict scheduling as well for a job which does not return the favor

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I realize that attracting and retaining staff must be difficult, but for a company which does not, albeit, they cannot, pay very well, management needs to be more flexible if they seek to lower attrition rates.

I have been working at Better Business Bureaus

    Pros

Work time off due to being part-time with no beneifts. Employees are allotted time off without pay, with advance notificaiton. This is to compensate for not benfits and low pay.

    Cons

Zero fairnss and respect - production numbers are often inflated, and the CEO and Sales Manager are detached from morality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a team working enviroment, show more trust, morale, fairness & respect to employees.

I worked at Better Business Bureaus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Management staff are friendly. They are integrated into the day to day routine (working managers).
    - Casual office environment.
    - Standard working hours; 9 - 5 but with early dismissal perks when quotas are matched or surpassed.

    Cons

    - Terrilble base salary. Their main rebuttal being; they are a "not for profit" organization with a limited budget.
    - No additional monetary perks outside of the standard commission structure.
    - Extensive administrative tasks and follow up routines which diminish the call volume and overall sales focus.
    - Insanely strict new client acquisition, regulation parameters. Basically, a business would require a "halo" over their heads in order to qualify for BBB accreditation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simplify and streamline the standard admissions requirements! There is allot of interest from legitimate business owners to exploit the benefits of a full accreditation and the significant Google boost from an online link to the Better Business Bureau. As well, make the annual rate affordable to small business owners.
