I have been working at Better Business Bureaus

Pros

The work hours are good, and you stay up on what's going on in the business scene in your local area. You do have the opportunity to help bring attention to good ethical businesses, and help consumers at the same time.

Cons

The BBB system can seem a bit dysfunctional. Making any changes for the better can be a bit like pulling teeth. Too many of the people seem content to become a dinosaur. The pay at a small bureau can be pretty miserable.

    Pros

They have potential considering the BBB does have a decent mission. If you find people you get a long with in the office, they will be your lifeline through all the stuff you have to put up with.

    Cons

Low pay and lack of involvement by senior management leads to a negative work environment. The departments are constantly struggling to communicate internally, yet no one in senior staff makes an effort to resolve the repetitive conflicts. Typical cubicle environment with many complacent office workers who forgot about their dreams and somehow settled here. Not many people interested in making changes, and even when someone is, the bureaucracy ensures that no changes happen for months, or even years. No one seems happy here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know your employes; learn their goals and ambitions. Take their concerns into consideration, real consideration not just giving them the brush off. CHANGE! You will go absolutely no where if what is happening continues. Remember you need your employees more than they need you, so start treating them that way!
