It would be nice to rotate people from checking to other things in the store more often since standing around gets boring after 3 hours.

    -flexible hours
    -great coworkers (mostly)
    -learn about wines

    Cons

    Where to start...
    -Management does not teach or try to develop associates.
    -company only cares about money.
    -some employees get preferential traetment.
    -multiple managers create confusion with tasking and scheduling.
    -schedules are released the day before they start, sometimes the day that they start!
    -associates are held to the same sales standards as commission based sales representatives.
    -high pressure to sell unfamiliar products.
    -10-20 hours a week.
    -low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep your employees happy! develop leaders, not $8 an hr drones. Rememver, happy employees keep happy customers returning. Our happiness = your bonuses. We dont sell cars you corporate heads, we sell alcohol- so stop with sales qoutas. Your associates earn roughly $8 an hr, they dont care about margins, comps or any of that stuff that your managers get paid to care about. Dont forget we (your associates) pay your bills.

    Pros

    Overall the associates are nice however many are lazy and make more work for the rest of us.

    Cons

    oh gosh where do i start? Ok well for a minimum wage job I have never had to do the amount of work they expect of the associates. The management will have 2 people close on a friday or saturday night and expect the store to be immaculate when they open the next morning. Many associates are lazy and create more work for the rest of us. Also, there is little to no training for new employees. My very first shift I was thrown on register (on a saturday night) with absolutely no training. Then they got mad when I asked a few basic questions. Also, one week you will have 30 hours and the next you will have 10-15. Its not stable at all.

    Slow down, train your employees and be realistic about your expectations.
