I have been working at Beyond

Pros

The benefits are AWESOME. 25 days of vacation each year, 8 paid company holidays, paid birthday time off if it falls on a regular working day, paid office closure between christmas and new years.

Cons

The company is still trying to figure out what exactly it is. This will surely be remedied in the upcoming months!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be great if Beyond had its own space instead of sharing with its sister company. Having its own space would really accelerate the development of the company culture.

Data analyst - some great people, some not so great people. Demotivating company structure and politics.

I worked at Beyond full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Really impressive research arm, and some very smart people responsible for it. High level and high quality analytics.

    Cons

The culture, particularly in London, is very alpha male dominated. Promotions and credit are given to those who shout loudest and are friends with the right people which is detrimental to relationships, work and career progression. Not afraid to put pressure on employees to deliver work in tight deadlines through working overtime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The culture of the company is very thin and fragile. Alcohol and computer games are great, but are no replacement for fundamentals such as support, respect and fairness.

There's so much potential, but the company is currently experiencing growing pains.

    I worked at Beyond

    Pros

There are some genuinely smart and wonderful people working there. The benefits are pretty good. Projects are varied and range from very boring to very challenging and interesting. It is really the luck of the draw whether you get the interesting projects or the boring projects. Management strongly pushes professional growth and individual interests.

    Cons

There are lots of promises but management never delivers. The company is chronically understaffed (even when things are going well), and most of the workers feel unappreciated. Everyone is killing themselves in order to produce great work, but they are not rewarded. Instead marketing fluff and people who don't work but are chummy with management get ahead.
The whole company feels like a joke. It's like a "digital" factory. The company also relies heavily on temporary workers, which is unsustainable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No more reactionary hiring. Hire enough people to allow people to grow. Stop being so cheap.
