Pros

Hiring practices at Big Fish ensure that the bulk majority of who you work with are interesting people from a variety of backgrounds. It's a very comfortable, informal work environment.

Cons

It's just large enough where migrating within the company can be difficult depending on your role.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

In-company training and mentoring options would help losing talented people who may not have the best resumes.

    Subpar Company with Limited Upside

I worked at Big Fish Games full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A good way to dip your toes into the gaming industry in Seattle. Not too many gaming companies around here, especially with the closure of PopCap.

    Cons

Very limited upside. Below-average compensation and little chance of going IPO or getting acquired since it's focused on a niche and declining market segment.

I worked at Big Fish Games full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Salary was ok.
    Nice offices overlooking the bay.

    Cons

    - Trying to share best practices and/or bring anything new to the table was usually, almost always, shot down. This, after they ask you to share them. This made a very frustrating atmosphere.
    - The perception of you, your team and how the company is perceived is a HIGH priority and is beat into your brain from day one.
    - You are constantly being judged and watched by everyone.
    - Interview process took 4+ months.
    - Virtually no onboarding process.
    - Bad communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Give your employees more trust and better onboarding for new employees.
    - Better communication between middle management and teams.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
