I have been working at Big Lots

Pros

Flexible hours, not so many people coming in during the day so as a student there are plenty time to review your stuff from school, connect with friends, text, or talk with co-workers. and management is flexible, pay is pretty good.

Cons

Not so many people comin in so its kinda quiet and boring, especially for someone talkative like me. otherwise, none! pretty satisfied!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep an eye on your workers as some of them may sneak stuffs out of the store.... otherwise, great job! you guys are very competent!

    I worked at Big Lots

    Pros

20% employee discount, a job in a shaky economy

    Cons

Low pay, hard work, lack of recognition, almost no chance for advancement, a lot of hours... Good job for young managers, but senior managers are advised to STAY AWAY !

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Big Lots

    Pros

    Customers, customers, customers, customers, customers

    Cons

I was actually proud to work for this company at one time until I came to the Denver region. The management in this region are like children in the eighth grade. They enjoy playing games and tearing up peoples lives. They actually fired me for throwing away a swing set that would have harmed children. Apparently his safety certification does not include the safety of children as he was worried more about the bottom line profit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't stick up for yourself (store managers) or you will be on their hit list and certainly don't tell them if you know something they don't know, If Big Lots as a corporation only knew the misconduct of their district associates.
