I have been working at Biltmore Company

Pros

The people here are wonderful, truly nice people from the Executive Committee to the front line staff. The managers are understanding and very competent. What all the departments are doing is very progressive and really ahead of many other attractions. Leadership is honest and open and really care about the people that work here. It is great to be part of a meaningful mission as well - helping to preserve Biltmore is a wonderful objective for a for-profit company. The benefits are good too, and quite fair. People stay at this company for a long time, and with good reason.

Cons

It is a very bottom-heavy organization - not a lot of place to go. You could very easily stay here for years and years in the same position. In fact a lot of employees are doing that.
Some of the benefits are bit odd - you don't get holidays for your first 120 days and you don't get paid vacation for a full year - and then it's only 10 days a year. The on the job training can be somewhat spotty and nearly everything about how much you'll like your job will vary based on what area you're working in.

Nothing, you're doing great.

I have been working at Biltmore Company full-time

    Pros

It is Pretty place to work. I use to enjoy my work environment but not any more. A few employees from other departments are nice to work with.

    Cons

Have had many different managers and co workers over the years. Management is quick to point out flaws and put you down, never receive praise. Benifits get worse every year. They don't care about the fact that you have a life outside of work. Co workers and new managers will do o say anything to make them selves seem better thn everyone else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LT might need to pay more attention to the front line and realize that some current managers are trying to show authority in stead of leadership.

I worked at Biltmore Company part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It's great to be part of an organization that has been a part of the community and local history. There are definitely some good perks involved in working there. The range of things to be involved in with the company can be really fun.

    Cons

They say they want it to still feel like a family run business and yet it still feels very corporate. If you're just a low level employee you probably won't feel very heard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people on the front lines and the mid-level management. They have good things to say and often don't have that opportunity.
