I have been working at Bipartisan Policy Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It truly is a great company with a very well-respected position in the DC think-tank arena. The name just keeps on growing and employees are pretty satisfied with their jobs.

    Cons

Management can be confusing. Communications between the management and low-level staff can be very hard at times. There is not much room for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire from within, look into the administrative staff who would love to move up.

I have been working at Bipartisan Policy Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Generous benefits. Young company that's growing fast but going through the growing pains that come with it. Staff is nice and friendly. Lots of break room snacks and leftover food from catered lunches. There are usually social events like staff parties, happy hours, birthday celebrations to mingle with co-workers and

    Cons

A lot of turnover among junior staff and there's no formal training provided. You're just expected to come in knowing what to do and how supervisors want it done. Information is not shared well across projects and work performance is affected as a result. Things seem to always be done last minute, putting pressure on other team members to meet deadlines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide training and structured onboarding process, at least in the basic essentials of working in the company.
Needs to work on diversifying the staff especially in the management levels. Listen to the concerns of junior staff and try to keep them engaged and challenged.
