Great company, ONLY for those who work where the money is made - IT SHOULD BE CALLED WHITEROCK INSTEAD !

I have been working at BlackRock full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

- focusing on becoming be the biggest of all, WAY TOO GREEDY
- Great salaries and bonus for the great top few.
- lots of opportunity for women
- well respect - good name in resume

Cons

- 99.99 % of employees are white, African Americans only at the administrated assistant levels.
- almost impossible to move within departments.
- Moving way too many jobs overseas.
if promoted, the compensation increment may a be liability, not worth it.
- it is a total SWEAT SHOP - not life balance at all.
rather bring new employees from the outside than promoting from within.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

PLEASE value employees at all levels, not just the few at the top. Do not focus only in making so much money, focus also in your best asset - your employees. The company has great talent inside being overlooked. Treat your employees better and hold management accountable for it.

I worked at BlackRock as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Gained great exposure to the municipal bond industry. An industry that is not really taught in classrooms.

    Cons

Being a finance intern, one is bound to get some abuse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great management. Regularly had conversations with upper management that are frequent guests on CNBC. Even got a chance to meet the legendary Peter Fisher.
