I have been working at BlackRock

Pros

Good benefits, Great peers to work with, ability to get designations

Cons

Lack of upward mobility, sales desk leadership provides toxic environment, turnover

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Integration with iShares has not been working. You'll continue to lose great employees because the sales desk leadership is clueless. There are way too many managers. Also, I'd advise candidates to look elsewhere while you interview with BlackRock. Pay has been coming down, bonuses are down.

Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
Approves of CEO

    Pros

    Really smart people
    Client facing responsibility

    Cons

    Long hours
Harder to get promoted now compared to a few years ago

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward the junior employees that have potential via either compensation or promotion. Lack of both is discouraging people to work hard.
