    Pros

the Pay...that is really it now a days....

    Cons

Work life balance is a joke at the new post merger BlackRock...and it's getting worse...

Do more with less and do it longer and do it on the weekend...don't think smart...just work hard and for many hours...

The new post merger BlackRock basically is consumed by politics, cost cutting and the bottom line at the expense of technology and people.

they basically do not want their IT staff to be smart and work smart...they want you in the office...60 hours a week...waiting for something to happen.

    Advice to Management

STOP THE LIES!!! Quit being cheap on technology!! Let changes flow up....those at the top are stale and afraid to let go of "they way we used to do things"....The same decisions by the same few will lead to the same results...only on a larger scale!!!

    Embrace technology....advanced technology!!!!

    Pros

Smart and intelligent people. Young and 'can-do' attitude. Good culture tends to instill sense of pride in working for world's largest asset manager.

    Cons

Work life balance is very poor. Long work hours are expected at all times. Sense of organization is low since the firm has grown very big in a very short time.

    Advice to Management

Need to slow down to stabilize the firm's growth down to the grass roots level.
