    Pros

A young company that hasn't fully lost focus on the balance between life and work. Very nice people and, if you're in Charleston, proximity to beaches and downtown are nice.

    Cons

Poor internal communication and disparate processes make just about any significant project difficult to complete. Too often the different departments don't know what the others are doing - left hand and right hand seldom meet. With the down economy, all depts have to get trim and increase efficiency, but the company has neglected the top performers which, by nature, means they'll lose their best assets and be left with the B players.

    Advice to Management

Consider listening to employees more intently. The "fixes" to Blackbaud's issues are right in front of you, but the growing disconnect between executive mgt and the people in the trenches is problematic. Understanding your business is one thing, but understanding the needs of the people who execute your plans is another. If you don't have both, then you're going to hit several bumps in the road.
