Overall a great internship

I have been working at Blackboard as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Great people, learned a lot, got paid well for an internship, and it was a fun corporate culture. I actually enjoyed going to work everyday.

Cons

The organization is so big, sometimes you have to work with people who are across the country (just a bit confusing with the time changes)...

I have been working at Blackboard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The company is focused on the education sector allowing you to earn a living while contributing to an important need. While not exactly nimble, Blackboard is able to move pretty quickly to address customer needs and is greatly improving in this are along with customer service over the last few years.

Good culture. Great benefits. Flexible work arrangements and strong professional relationship opportunities.

    Cons

If you're not located in DC, it's difficult to break into the "upper layers" of management.

I worked at Blackboard full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good insurance and had good values. however this has changed since being bought out. Buys up smaller companies to stay ahead in technology

    Cons

Managers will hold you back from advancing if they want to keep you in their department. Managers fluff stats to make it look like they are doing good. Do not expect managers to stick up for you. they will throw you under the bus whenever possible
