I have been working at Blackstone Technology Group full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

A majority of project engagements go to market within 9 months allowing for quick project succession. The working environment is extremely fast paced allowing for immediate growth in many roles. You will not be pigeonholed into just one responsibility. Individual and team growth is supported with knowledge sharing meetings and conference attendance.

Cons

Due to the fast paced environment, a majority of the time extended hours are needed and expected.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend more team building outings to raise moral during crunch time. I would also recommend additional comp time for billable hours worked over a normal work week.

I worked at Blackstone Technology Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great, if you enjoy working with the same client for a long period of time (ie. over 2 years). Contracts are generally with the Federal Government and tend to be long term. The company promotes for hard work and dedication. Many opportunities to contribute to the growth of the company.

    Cons

If you prefer new challenges and like to have new opportunities with clients, this may not be the best place to work. As I mentioned, it is mostly Federal work that is more long term.

I have been working at Blackstone Technology Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I've been with Blackstone for over three years and have thoroughly enjoyed the company culture and opportunities provide as a result of personal hard work. The leadership expects and demands a strong work ethic, ability to expand personal skill-set, an entrepreneurial mind-set, and excellent customer service. Hard work and an agile approach to your skill set results in appreciation and recognition by the executive leadership. There is no place to hide at Blackstone...you are either able to swim or not, which makes the staff talented, hard-working, and tight-knit. I enjoy this type of culture, so it's great to know your hard work is not isolated and your fellow employees are focused and carrying their own weight.

    Cons

An investment in more collaborative toolsets, network and infrastructure components, and a more streamlined performance evaluation process would have a GREAT impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of the corporate culture and assist in information sharing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize that upgrading old operational systems do not solve core product restrictive issues and lack of integration. In today's market and with leaps in corporate operational technologies, ripping and replacing is necessary. Some of these investments can not be captured in a traditional business case/ROI analysis. Trust and invest in your staff through the tools and capabilities you provide them, and you'll see gains both tangible and intangible that you can not measure.
