I have been working at Blood Systems full-time for more than 3 years

Pros – Inspiring work that truly makes a difference and saves lives. New market style food service provides healthier and fresher food choices in the break room. Excellent health care benefits, competitive pay, great coworkers.

Cons – Always short staffed, expected to cover night shifts for staff shortages and vacations without fair compensation. Little chance for career advancement in production environment. Continuing education not encouraged.

Advice to Senior Management – Proactively hire enough staff so the lab is not perpetually short staffed. Require managers and supervisors to attend annual communication training. Diversity for diversity's sake is not productive. Provide locker rooms and showers so employees can ride bicycles to work and shower before work.
