Great Discount, Poor Future

Sales Associate (Former Employee)

Prosgenerous benefits, adequate paid vacation, admirable community partnerships and philanthropic outreach, associates create bonds like friends- not just coworkers- and foster their own sense of teamwork, on-trend merchandise & great discount

Conscreativity and abstract thought are crushed. productivity based solely on numbers (sales, credit accounts opened) and SMs pit associates against each other in competition. SMs don't know their people and spend too little time on the sales floor. despite what they promise, internal promotions are nearly nonexistent (even when exceeding performance expectations). no scheduling stability unless you're a student, no weekends off during holiday quarter. the single function HR successfully fulfills is monitoring dress code. only liars & suck ups thrive. okay for a summer job, but not the company for anyone looking to build a long term career.

    Mostly Positive

Seasonal Sales Professional (Former Employee) Palo Alto, CA

I worked at Bloomingdale's part-time for less than a year

Pros: I had never worked in retail before, and needed a part-time seasonal job while I looked for more permanent work. I enjoyed my surroundings… Cons: Employees only get a 20% discount, but they do have certain appreciation days where you will… More
