I worked at Bloomingdale's full-time for more than a year

Pros

Good for your resume & teaches you how to survive difficult work obstacles.Co workers are talented, skilled & nurturing. You gain true friends in them.

Cons

My manager never felt the need to work but instead delegated all the work to her team. Not once did I hear a sincere thank you from her or any form of gratitude. She would gladly take credit for our work but would throw her team completely under the bus if a project went south. Self serving and ruthless, she never feels the need to cultivate & nurture her team. Loved by management, there is no potential for growth unless you are on her good side.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be observant & realize management's shortcomings.learn to value the people that work under you.

    I worked at Bloomingdale's full-time

    Pros

Interesting co-workers and a generous discount

    Cons

Strict rules, little room for suggestions and innovations, management that left room to be desired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice if management actually stopped and listened to employees and heard what they have to say. Management filters everything through their needs and wants leaving little room for the rank and file...
