Lots of pros and cons

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Detroit, MI

ProsIf you were hired into the company, you had very good benefits and if you stuck around long enough, the salary was good too.

ConsWith the downsizing and mass retirement of people, morale became very low. People became very defensive at times and some worried about their jobs. I worked in the communications area and for the beginning of that VPs tenure, he began to hire a lot of people. It's unfortunate, but with budget cuts, he had to scale it back again. The immediate department that I was in was rather cliquey, but overall, people there were very good hearted and nice to work with.

Advice to Senior ManagementFoster team work and get your employees engaged. Have policies that foster creativity. Yes sometimes it's necessary, but avoid surprise layoff and buyouts as much as possible.
