Job stability, good work life balance

Cons

Lack of growth prospects. Pretty much everyone gets the same bonus irrespective of their hard work. You get outdated working on internal stuff and become oblivious of the latest technological advancements

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much paper work to build software. Get some folks to handle paper work and let the software professionals do what they are good at i.e build software.

    decent salary for the position, great training, opportunity for bonuses

    Hard moving out of department, customer service is not very respected, overwhelming work load w/extremely high goals to meet daily.

    Realize the amount of pressure put on representatives in department and respect the demand it is.

    I worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Nice working hours: Management does not like to hold meetings before 9am or after 3pm, many people work from home all day. Opulent facilities: management hired a chef from an exclusive New Orleans hotel to cook meals. No pressure regarding budgets: costs are simply passed along to policyholders.

    Cons

    Management frequently abuses staff (yelling, screaming, intimidation). Employees will get into trouble for scheduling a meeting prior to 9am, but not for a $1,000,000 budget slip.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop management from abusing employees. Implement some of those management processes that you've spent millions to develop.
