Benefits, 401K, Starting Pay Grade, Great health care/medicare experience. Paid time off, friendly staff, excellent facilities. Excellent opportunity for temp worker to become permanent.

    Cons

Favoritism, Selective rule enforcement, No advancement opportunities no matter how much you learn, Seniority rules all regardless of job knowledge. Its not what you know, its who you know...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-evaluate senior leadership, assess true product/job knowledge, take action on inefficiencies. Perception of fairness affects employee motivation and commitment. Put a stop to internal favoritism..

I have been working at Blue Shield Of California

    Pros

For a career oriented professional - I don't see any pro's. However, if you happened to be one of the unfortunate top performers who landed up in the wrong side of the job market, then this is not a bad place to "hang out".

    Cons

    "Senior Management" clearly demonstrate
    - Lack of "real" experience. (Real as in " "been there , done that as opposed to simply lazing around for years in the some position in the industry)
    - Lack of ability to influence or motivate people.
    - Lack of ability to even plan initiatives , leave alone Program management.
    - Lack of even absorbing or understand the solutions expert professionals provide (some experts being hired due to the tough economic scenario.)
    - The rigid hierarchy obfuscates the communication with executive management .

Bottom Line: Poor leadership trickles itself down the pyramid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate your managers for performance rather then simply taking their "excuses".
Evaluate soft skills in combination with technical skills.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO
