Pros

-Recreational rooms for breaks and drinks
-Company hosts trips and events
-Helpful / knowledgeable colleagues

Cons

-Badly needs a development process
-CTO changes product requirements on a whim

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CTO and upper management needs to get their requirements ready before handing out the task to the developers. I know this is not uncommon, but not making the architecture flexible enough the first time just decreases the maintainability for future changes in the system. A lot of hours are wasted doing things that were not even considered.

    Excellent marketing and sales dept.

    Uses Java tecchnology = big security flaws and Hmeland not recommended

    I worked at BoardVantage full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Loads of experienced people to learn from esp. the CTO/ director of engineering
    The high level of management will evaluate your interest and distribute the work accordingly.
    Ample opportunities to learn things from experts
    Good recreation enviornment incase you are tired
    Pool competitions and exciting activities
    Experts in the industry to work with

    Cons

    No process
    No organized workflow
    Fast deliverables
    No work time scheduled, during release , you have to work for 14 hours straight.
    Team leads do not know how to work with their peers/ juniors.
    Lack of expertise in-case of team leads and overcontrolling nature of team lead( sometimes)
    Loads of politics to deal with

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please hire someone who is technically sound team lead, so that it may not lead to other engineers quitting the team. Inexperienced team leads / unqualified team leads ( who dont even possess a Engineering degree) feel intimidated and leads to peer rivalry.
    Please avoid that situation in future.
