I have been working at Bob Evans full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Bob Evans is a great company to work for. I have been treated with respect and my hard work is appreciated by all. The company promotes from within if u are willing to put in the hard work. I have been there for 13 years. They are family oriented and are very understanding about family needs.

Cons

Training of new employees is a little lacking lately. In my opinion they are turned lose to soon.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to see to it that new employees are thoroughly trained. I think you would have a higher retention rate. I have seen some new people that were set up for failure because they were not trained properly.

    I worked at Bob Evans part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    You got tips to pay for the gas it took to get there.
    I liked that they gave you a set schedule, it was easier to plan ahead.

    Cons

    I was given one shift a week that I worked for 4 hours at a $3.50 per hour wage on the slowest night of the week.
    There was no proper training to help new employees learn the job.
    They expect first time workers to just "know" what they're doing.
    I was constantly being "yelled" at and talked down to for doing something wrong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat your employees with respect, especially if they're new to the job community, and please take your time with training.
